Day 20 here in Norway.
We are surviving fine despite the fact that I don't cook. I kid you not, I don't even know how to prepare hard-boiled eggs. My rice isn't perfect either! However, I am slowly learning and I am proud of myself. I've already tried cooking spaghetti, fried chicken, adobo and beef steak for my family.
Joshua started school already. Jacob and I walk him to the bus stop each morning and wait for him in the same stop in the afternoon. He doesn't seem to mind going to school alone and I am proud of him for that. He tells me that he's making friends and that he has learned a bit of Norwegian already.
Jacob is here with me all day. We watch Norwegian shows (to familiarize with the words) and we do some studying. We practice writing his name and we practice numbers too. When we are not doing these things, I do all the household chores like any homemaker. For some reason, even if I am completely new at this, I am enjoying managing the household. I have always loved tidying up, so doing the laundry, dishes and even ironing isn't a problem for me.
We have our residence cards already and we have applied for our person number. Once we have our person number, we can start enrolling Jacob as well. Hopefully everything will run smoothly so I can find a job. While I love being a stay at home mom, it is best if I have a job as well so we can have a comfortable life here.
So fingers crossed, head held high and keeping the hope up for that one.
