Cutters

Tuesday, February 28, 2012

Our business entail us to do a lot boxing and packing. We import spare parts and distribute it nationwide thus strong and ergonomically efficient box cutters are important to us. It is also very important that these cutters are safe to use. Since our old one is no longer efficient, I took it upon myself to search for the best one's available online. Since my son is a left-handed person, finding a box cutter which is right and left-handed friendly sounds like a good deal to me. Maxisafe 3-Sided Slider is described as one of Martor’s Smart Knife safety cutters because a safety spring provides for automatic blade "shoot-back" into the handle in response to any uncontrolled movement - even with thumb on the slider!

Check it out for yourself too, if you need a safe cutter!

Oscars Best Dressed 2012

I don't agree with Harper's Bazaar's best dress list so I made my own =) These are my 5 faves in no particular order.

Yahoo gave Mila Jovovich an A Grade and said, "The "Resident Evil" actress blew everyone away when she arrived wearing this gorgeous white Elie Saab Couture one-shoulder gown. Soft locks, red lips, Jacob & Co. jewels, and an Edie Parker box clutch perfectly complemented her ensemble."

Yahoo gave Emma Stone an A as well and said,"Now that’s a statement dress. Stone hit the Oscars in a Giambattista Valli Couture gown that boasted a high neck with a giant bow. A simple bun and Louis Vuitton jewels rounded out her stylish ensemble."

Yahoo gave JLO an A. The “American Idol” judge dared to bare … and it paid off. Lopez’s plunging Zuhair Murad gown not only caused a ruckus on the red carpet, but during the Oscar broadcast as well. When she was onstage presenting with Cameron Diaz, the Internet was buzzing about.

Michelle Williams got a B according to yahoo,"It looks kind of red to us, but the “My Week With Marilyn” star and best actress nominee described her chiffon Louis Vuitton dress as “coral” in an interview with Ryan Seacrest. Whatever the color, we could have done without the silver little-girl bow adornment."

Maria Menounos got an A-. (I love the back of this dress!) According to yahoo, "“Access Hollywood” host Maria Menounos got glamorous in green thanks to this va-va-voom backless Maria Lucia Hoha chiffon dress. Drop earrings and a side-swept updo completed her look.

Bare with me for a bit. I was having fun with my sisters iPhone4s. It takes such great photos!

Loving my outfit today. It is actually a boy's tee but I love the design so much that I asked my Mom if I could have it. She's was supposed to give it away for Christmas. LOL.

I am such a girl - as you may have known from reading my previous posts that I am hoping I'd have a baby girl. Not anytime soon of course, but when the time comes I really pray that the Lord will give us a girl. I mean, to whom will I give all my bags, jewelry, make-up and accessories??? I have such a huge collection of fashion accessories that I have one for every occassion. From ethnic pieces to pearls, from cocktail rings to chuncky bangles. I don't use them everyday though, daily, I prefer sterling silver bracelets and earrings. For a normal day, I could not get out of the house without my wedding ring, a watch, earrings and bracelet. An eye-popping red lipstick is also my go to shade to compensate for my simple egyptian t'shirt.

Awards and Trophies : Where to have it made.

I was wondering where I can have trophies and awards made and with the help of the world wide web - I have found a site which can make your trophies from sports tropies to corporate awards in just 24 hours. Wow. That deserves an award by itself, don't you agree?

The reason why I am looking for such information is that my boss wants us to have the awards made for the best performance in our sales department properly this time. Last year, we just placed the certificates in beautiful frames. While this is acceptable as well, it would be nice to have a plaque for a change. Something you can put up and show off for a job well done.

I have only received a trophy once in my life. That was way back in Grade 6 when my group and I won 1st place for our Science Project. Sad! If there's an award for Mom's out there I'd like to think I am worthy of that as well.

Auto Correct Fail

I still can't access blogger.com through our Internet connection. My sister said it has something to do with permissions and such. It is just weird because when I use my 3G connection I can access the sites with no problem.

The more reason I love my iPhone. Not only can I play Temple Run and PvZ I could also blog (and shop!) with it. Aaaaamazing! There's just one thing that annoys me with it.

Autocorrect. There are some crazy words coming from it at times! See below. HIGHlarious!!! Hahahaha

When our house was being built around 8 years ago; my mom and dad used to ask our opinion regarding the interiors of the house. I used to find the whole thing fascinating. I went with my parents in the home builders to buy the needed tiles, fixtures and even the moldings. Once when the metal switch plates we're put up my father asked me if it went with the overall look of our house - while I loved the metal switch plates it did not fit the overall design of our house. We had to take it down and had it exchanged for more colorful plastic switch plate covers.

Now that I have the chance to go around the city and look for houses for my own family I really look into every detail of the house. I make sure the exterior and interior of the house it of top quality. I realized I am more comfortable in a house which is modern in design, minimalist with lots of metals and clean surfaces.

Too bad we haven't seen the perfect home for us just yet. We still have to keep a lookout some more, not to mention save some more!

Earthquake: The 6.8 Shocker

Thursday, February 9, 2012

I am pretty sure everyone in Central Visayas is still shaken up (pun intended) by the 6.8 Earthquake that rocked our City around 11:49AM, February 06 morning. I am sure everyone has his or her own detailed account of the earthquake experience.

Personally, I was with my 5-year old in Krispy Kreme waiting for someone. My son was eating his strawberry filled donut while I was busy checking emails and twitter. Suddenly, I felt the floor below me shake. It was surreal. Like a scene from a movie in slow-mo, the other customers and I looked at each other and in a split second everyone was up heading for the door. I left those 2 boxes of KK on the table, grabed my bag and Joshua's hand and we were out the door. Thank God we were in the first floor of the mall. Thank God we were near the door! I would have been 200x more stressed than I aleady was. I realized one thing, I am not ready for a disaster. I am panicky. I ran. I was a wreck.

This was the scene right after 6.8. Everyone around went out of the mall and their respective sky rise offices. Surprisingly, it was quiet. Apparently, most were still in shock including me.

The networks then got so busy and everyone shared through twitter and facebook.

It is just sad that rumors about the tsunami spread like wildfire and caused panic in the downtown area. But you know what's more sad? A fellow Filipino names Ascee Flores wished us Visayans ill. She wished for our demise, according to her - "mababawasan na ang mga baduy". Don't you think by doing so, her ugly behavior is more baduy? I was mad when I read her comments via yahoo news. But it is more sad how we, Filipinos, when faced with a disaster - instead of helping each other we put each other down.

Online Biz

Wednesday, February 8, 2012

A good friend of mine recently went into online business. She imports clothes from Thailand and sells it in the Philippines via social networking sites like Facebook. As of now it is working for them since they are just starting out however, as an IT graduate, she knows that once she expands her business she needs to invest in a software like cash register express that will meet their increasing demands. CRE is defined as a cost-effective cash register software that keeps your inventory costs down, speeds up customer checkout, accurate inventory tracking, reduces shrinkage, manages employee labor, and effectively markets to customers. She was doing some research online and she's pleased by the abundance of tools and choices for her online business to proper. I actually envy her. I have been talking on and on about starting my own business but I never have the balls (and time!). I could only wish her well and hope one day I can have my very own too.
