My First Time

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

Our beach outing last weekend was fantastic! It was my very first time in the island located from the city approximately 5 hours away.

The weather was cooperative. The water was great. The company was fabulous. My only rant is the length of the travel. All in all, we were on the road for 5 hours. 3 hours on the bus, 1 and 30 minutes ferry to the island and give and take 30 minutes for traffic and delays. It would have been fine if I was traveling alone, but then I had 2 kids (under 5!!!) Plus, I didn't have a nanny with me. Good thing my sister graciously agreed to go with me and help me out. My friends also did their share of nanny duties so that was great too.

Look at how pristine the beach is!!!

Although, truth be told, it was really one tiring weekend. I was dead tired come Monday. If I could, I would have slept the whole day to recuperate. But then work happens and life happens. We were supposed to go to the Azkals meet and greet thing in Ayala. Since I was TOO dead tired to go, we cancelled. 4 complimentary tickets wasted. Oh well. There's always a next time.

Don't Rain On My Parade

Thursday, May 26, 2011

Everything is ready for our weekend getaway in Bantayan.

In less than 48 hours, we will be lounging in here. Gorgeous right??? I can't wait. The sunnies are ready, the sunscreen, floppy beach hat and spanking 5lb lighter beach bod (thanks to info from cissus quadrangularis I found the perfect solution to losing weight). I wish I could say the same with the weather though. It is far from perfect. As a matter of fact, there's a typhoon looming but is scheduled to leave the country in 48 hours. I really hope the sun will shine for us. We have been planning for this thing for months. I have even asked my dear sister (in exchange of an iPhone4) to accompany me and the kids since the new nanny will be out for the weekend.

What's Up With Me?

Today was a busy day full of errands and deadlines. But I am glad to have crossed out a lot on my to-do list. I was able to visit the in-laws, go to the lawyer, go to the bank and even squeezed in some time in between errands to look around for floor mats and ariens mowers for a client.

I forgot about lunch - but that's fine because I am on a diet anyway.

But then, my sister bought pizza for all of us so here I am trying to reward myself after a long and tiring day. (plus I am really3x hungry)

Ack. Stress.

On top of that, my son got into a minor accident. He fell of the bed in the middle of night. He claims he was about to pee when he stumbled and fell face first on the floor.

Floor - 1 : Joshua - 0

So that's it. No Taekwondo today for him despite it being the 2nd to the last day of class. He is feverish and really cranky. I wouldn't blame him. It looks so ouchie.;(

RIO.

Wednesday, May 25, 2011

I have watched this movie roughly 20x.

My son, maybe 5x more. I am not complaining though because I love the visual, the story line, the characters and I especially love the music.

A fastfood chain gives out toys as freebies when you order their happy meal. I was able to get the monkey once but not the others because it was sold out. But then, on my birthday I dropped by the fastfood to grab something to eat after hearing mass, and lo and behold ALL the toys were available. Right then and there, I bought a whole lot of happy meals to make my son a happy boy.

Look at his face? Totally worth it.

On RV's

Friday, May 20, 2011

Here in the Philippines, those who have an RV, as far as I know, are celebrities. Well, obviously, they are the one's in need and more importantly they are the one's who can afford. The RV is especially helpful when they have tapings in far flung locations. One time, when I was visiting the capital city, Manila; I saw this heavily tinted RV pull up beside our car - I wanted desperately to see who was inside. Unfortunately I didn't. It was too dark. Maybe the celebrity in question was sleeping inside, with the Manila traffic, an RV is like a home away from home. It was an awesome RV, I bet it is cozy and roomy inside. I wonder if we have good rv repairs here though. As far as I know, there aren't many auto shop or auto detailing shops out there who specialize in RV's since a few only has them. I've read somewhere that getting a mechanical breakdown insurance is better than a warranty if you are an auto or an RV owner. Better read up more on that being a new owner of a car myself.

Friday Fill-Ins

FFI

1. I see that you have not changed, you are still sexy.

2. I drive just below 40kph because I don't want my new car to have any dents or scratch.

3. They begin to crumble under pressure.

4. The weather wasn't this crazy so many years earlier.

5. This I know: we have to take care of the planet Earth or else it will die on us.

6. Yey! Pasta for dinner.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to watching 90210 season ender and Glee, tomorrow my plans include bringing the kids to the pedia for their regular shots and Sunday, I want to hear mass and rest!

Which One?

Wednesday, May 11, 2011

I am really having a hard time with my cellphone right now. It is almost 2 years old, fairly new and I am not a brutal user. However, it also freezes and I can't even browse youtube! Customer service says my network does not support the phone's feature of web video streaming. Accck. Why didn't anyone tell me that at the sales counter? Anyway, I am really wishing for an iPhone to make my life a whole lot easier. Right now, I take my phone and the iTouch everywhere I go. It would be convenient if I only had to bring 1 gadget. My bag is already heavy as it is. If not an iPhone, my second choice would be a blackberry. A friend recently purchased his first BB and he has been hooked. Online browsing is easy, breezy according to him. The only downside of course is your bills sky rocket plus you need to charge the batt more often. No problem though because you can always browse through available mobile batteries online. Everything is online nowadays and we are very reliant on our phones and laptops. When we had service interruption last Monday for our internet and phone connection our lives went crazy! Goes to show, we cannot live without technology. So an iPhone or a BB?

Summer Rain.

Thursday, May 5, 2011

It's summer time and it is raining! Usually, I hate the rain but I will make an exception this time. The weather has been brutally HOT these past few days that the summer rain is a welcome change. I do hope this does not continue longer because we have beach outings lined up for May until July!

Hubby is coming home and we can spend quality time in a resort in our very own jacuzzi. It makes sense that they put spa covers though; it would be dangerous if the kids were with us. They can jump in anytime! But the kids are not with us this time, so I am extra excited about this mini-honeymoon. I've been dieting already. Can't have unflattering photos in Boracay nonetheless.

Thizizit.

Just gave the reservation fee for the unit. This is it.

But wait!!! My SIL sent me an email and it read.

HONDA CARS Philippines Inc. called an emergency press conference last February 18, 2011 to announce a voluntary safety recall of its two sub-compact models Jazz and City, explaining that small engine components in the models could create problems and stall their engine. Four pieces of the lost-motion-spring retainers had to be in the cylinder head of the 1.5-liter Honda Jazz(distributed from September 2008 to April 2010) and the 1.5 liter Honda City(distributed from January 2009 to April 2010) had to be replaced right away. The Honda Jazz subject of recall was imported from Thailand while the City is a complete knock-down unit assembled in the Philippines. The recall targets 5,468 units of both distributed at the time. Also, no crashes or injuries were reported.

That's exactly the model we are buying. However, these were the past models purchased Sept2008 to April2010....but better make sure with my agent!

Birthday Gal.

Wednesday, May 4, 2011

I've never had any problem with severe acne in my life. However, one or two often comes out when something big is happening. Ironic.

A zit was present when I had my prom. There were 2 on my wedding day and yesterday when I celebrated my 28th birthday, a single big one was present on my forehead! I am still very happy though because my face is generally acne-free as opposed to a good friend of mine who have been battling acne since he was a teen.

Speaking of birthdays, I had a blast yesterday with my 28th. Nothing fancy, no parties. We just had some special lunch viands (lechon and palabok). There were some surprises along the way too. For the first time in many years, I didn't feel blue on my birthday. I may be 28 but my heart will forever be 21.

...it's my birthday and I am about to cry.

Couldn't be any happier. How did I manage to be so lucky? I have a Hubby who loves me. A family who supports me. Kids who are perfect. Friends who are crazy fun.

Life is good.

This is going to be my year. I can see it now. Embracing my 28th!^_^ Have a nice day everyone!
