Fun With Zenni

I want another pair of prescription eyeglasses!!!

My very first pair is quite small - I loved it because it looked inconspicuous. I picked it thinking it won't draw attention too much which is fine but then I am bothered when I see the frames in my peripheral vision. A much bigger frame is in order. At least this way I can change it up depending on my outfit. I can wear my 1st pair for work and I can use the other one when I am out and about.

;)

There are affordable pairs in Zenni Optical. I browsed thru their glasses and was concerned because I cannot really see if I look good with the glasses or not. Plus, I want other people's opinion on what they think looks best on me. Then, like an answered prayer I saw a new feature of the site wherein I can upload my photo and check out my face with the glasses! Awesome. Go on. Try on all frames and share it on FB! Ask your friends to comment and suggest the best frame for you.

I won't share my pictures here though; I might share it on facebook soon. I really want to try all the frames first and decide which looks best.

Saturday 9: A Long December

Monday, March 28, 2011

1. Looking back at it now, how were your holidays and your time on New Year's Eve?

It was the best. I was super duper busy. Many of my friends and family came home for the holidays that it seemed, parties and get togethers' were happening on a nightly basis. It was the best.

2. Do you have any unusual collections?
Hmmm. Accessories. It's not unusual. But I love collecting them.

3. If you could train a machine to do one thing for you whenever you wanted, what would you have it do?
I'd train the machine to make clothes for me.

4. What is one thing that makes you cry?
Little kids suffering. One picture of a baby who survived the japan tsunami made me tear up.

5. What do you love to do on the weekend?
Shop. Rest. Watch movies.

6. Do you and your family get along?
Yup. We're a tight bunch.

7. Have you ever gotten kicked out somewhere? If yes, do tell.
Nope. I am a good girl all the way ;)

8. Who do you normally turn to when you need to complain about something?
My Mom or Hubby.

9. What is the last thing you ordered on-line?
Case for my iTouch.

Coins!

Saturday, March 26, 2011

I used to be really good at saving when I was a kid. But then - I grew up so clothes, shoes, accessories and going out with friends happened. Do I regret not being able to save as much? Not really because I had the time of my life.

Now that I am married and have kids, I look at saving as a whole different thing. It is no longer an option. It's a necessity. Saving and investing our money into things like insurance and even coins like Morgan silver dollar's are great things to have. Wise money decision making will secure the future of my family, of my kids. That's why whenever I see articles about wise investments to make I read it and try to learn from it. I suggest you can do the same.

Goodbye and Welcome Back

The worse part of goodbye's is when you are the one left behind. Many of my friends have gone out of the country to pursue their careers. While I am genuinely happy for them - one teeny tiny part of me wants to be selfish and wish them to stay.

As they say, when God closes a door, He opens a window. A friend who is based in another region will be coming home. Although I think she would not stay long but at least she'll be here for summer. I do hope we go on a trip or a vacay together for summer. I treasure my friends and spending time with them is my "me time". Of course going on a vacations means you have to look your best. Fats and flabs is a no-no when its summer. I have taken it upon myself to start reading sensa reviews and maybe start on that long overdue diet. They say losing the sense of smell can lessen my craving for food. I sure hope this diet method is for me.

I am starting to feel comfortable wearing my contacts. Of course, if I had a choice, I wouldn't want any!!!

I don't like the glasses at all

.....and now the contacts are bearable. It's more 'fun' because I chose the colored one's.

Irresistible Twix

I am supposed to be on a diet but TWIX is royally making it impossible for me do so. Yes, I have lessened eating rice but I have compensated by eating much more sweets. I know I have gained weight because my shorts have tightened! Shucks. My legs are bigger!!! The horror. My arms are also bigger. I hate it. My arms are my weakest spot. When I gain the littlest weight, it will definitely show in my arms. I was reading those lipofuze reviews and contemplated for the nth time weather I take some diet pills or not. I mean, what harm can it really do right? Apparently, some pills do have side-effects. So, if I do use, I should be responsible enough to read about the product first. So, still thinking about taking diet supplements...? Read up.

Ink For Less

I think I better get a new printer. Mine is fine but it consumes a lot of ink! I practically have to change it every month (and I don't even print as much!) I have this guy who keeps on calling and calling and calling - he offers office equipment at reasonable price. I would have gladly bought from him but he is annoying me so much with all his "follow-ups" that choose not to buy from him even if they do the extra mile and deliver their products to us ASAP. The thing with his is he calls me up daily asking for our requirements. I tell him to call me after a week, he says yes, and lo and behold, the next day - he calls again! Jeeeeez. For that, I am sourcing out other direct suppliers for ink cartridges for our printers here in the office. It's always better to buy them with a supplier that's not stocked in a mall because they generally cost less.

Benefits of SSDI

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

I cannot stress enough the importance of having an insurance. Our kids need it, we need it and as a parent and a breadwinner, we should be making it a priority. Imagine a life without insurance, you get into an accident, lose both your legs and arms. Suddenly you can't work anymore! How will you feed your growing family? Scary right? That is what there is such a thing as Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). It is a payroll tax-funded, federal insurance program intended to provide income to people who cannot work because of a disability. You will be considered "disable" when you are unable to work because of a verifiable mental or physical impairment that has lasted or is expected to last for at least one year, or result in death. Of course, you can only qualify for the insurance if you are insured, have not reached retirement age of 65 and if you qualify under the disability description. You may be asking, why should I apply for an Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits? You should apply because you are entitled to it. When you work, and during paydays you see those taxes being deducted, they are matched by the employer to which you are entitled to receive when you cannot work because of a disability. In short, SSDI provides you with income until your condition improves or it offers assistance to help you return to work and provides ongoing income if your condition does not improve. Other SSDI benefits include access to Medicare, prescription drug assistance and protection for your future Social Security retirement benefits.

So when faced with a disability, no matter how crushing and earth shattering it may feel, go ahead and apply for an SSDI Benefit. It may take a long time, maybe not, there are people out there willing to help you out so you can qualify for one. Read up about it, information is key.

Little Guy

Look at my baby boy! All grown up in his little paleontologist outfit! ;))) I was scared for him to go up there with the crowd looking on - I really thought he'd clam up and decide to not say his line. But he did. He didn't need any prodding from the teacher. He went up and said his line. Although he could have done it better with a louder voice, still he did a great job. I am one proud mommah. School has really made him gain confidence.

What did he say?

"Hi, I am Joshua. When I grow up I would like to be a Paleontologist."

My little nerd, so cute♥

Accessorize

Thursday, March 10, 2011

I am a sucker for accessories. The very first time I went into the store Accessorize I was like a little kid in a candy store. I kept on picking up everything yummy in sight. Nevermind that the price tag was in Pounds and I was earning in Pesos ;((

Their stuff are really fun and funky. There's something in there for everyone. While I do love love love accessories, I am trying to cut back on shopping for them. My online sideline is on a decline thus I don't have extra moolah to spend anymore. I stumbled upon a site where they sell beading supplies (which offer up to 50% off!!) and I immediately thought of an idea. Why not make my own accessories and even try selling a few? Hmmm now that's a nice thought!

iPad

Tuesday, March 8, 2011

I used to think I didn't need an iTouch. Now that I have one, I can't live without it. I used to think the iPad is just useless - now that my brother has one and I've tried it, I want to steal it from him. Why are human beings like that? We create things and make it into a need. Generations before us didn't use the internet, they didn't have cellphones or smartphones but they managed to survive. If you transport me to the 1900 I am pretty sure I'll get bored in 3 hours.

I've recently seen the clip of Chaplin's movie where a woman supposedly was seen using a cellphone in 1928. Was she time traveling? Or what she just talking to herself?

It's fun to analyze, but personally, I don't buy it. While she may look like she was talking on a phone - it could be anything I suppose. Maybe she was a little cuckoo and she was pretending to be talking to someone but in reality she was just talking to herself. Well, whatever. The point is - I want an iPad.;)

Play For Free

Monday, March 7, 2011

I am not a fan of games of chance because I always lose. I won once, it was the first time I tried my luck with casinos. After that, I never once won again. Still, that's maybe because I seldom go to casinos because I don't have time. Maybe I can try the casino bonus. What's great about this is you can find best no deposit casino bonus codes from trusted casinos. You don't want to end up in a site where it just takes and takes your money, right? Being online has all its perks. Casino games like these can be enjoyed in the comforts of you home! That's savings right there - you get to save on transportation cost. Fitting because the oil prices nowadays are a killer! It keeps on going up. Staying indoors playing your favorite games is such a great idea. Plus there are a wealth of friendly people in the community playing too. Remember, no deposit. You can play without paying for it.

Alert On A Monday

I love it when Mom and Dad goes out of the country!:) Aside from the pasalubong (yehey new nikkor lens) we get to visit Duty Free after. And you know what that means?

Chocolates!!!

I am currently eating Twix. My favorite chocolate of all time. It's a good thing because the chocolate perks me up. I hate Mondays. Today is bearable because of the chocolate rush and because of Mo's Podcast. I love GTWM: The Podcast. Download it on iTunes. It's a great way to stay alert during work hours (apart from chocolates of course)

Splish Splash!

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Few weeks from now, school is over. Summer is around the corner and almost everyone is planning for a summer getaway including our family. We don't have any certain destination yet but we wanted something that has a beach and white sand. A sweet treat to the kids who have been good in school and the hard working adults in the family. Hopefully we can find a place that would offers our serene surroundings, beautiful accommodation and within our budget.

Right now, I am busy looking around the net of such place. While doing that I am also browsing through online shops that has a lot of summer attire. Of course, once you hit the beat you want to hit it in style. But looking through the outfits I cannot help feeling a bit sad. I have not been good to my body this past few years and pounds have added up. How I wish I am fit. Fit enough to show off my body in a two piece suit. Well, maybe a liposuction ireland would do the trick. What do you think? Well, I might try it if I have the money for such procedure but right now I don't have so I'll just have to make myself fit the hard way. As they say "NO Pain, No Gain".

March First.

First entry for March.

First day of March, actually! Woooo. Summer. I love summer. Don't you? The soundtrack of 50 First Dates plays in my head automatically. If I can, I'd go to the beach every weekend and just lounge around with my mango shake and maybe a good book. That is life.

..what else is up on summer? My birthday! ;) To those friends (who might give a gift) here's a thought: I'd like makeup, bag and maybe something valuable and chic. Pearls to be exact. ^__^ Which reminds me, Mother's Day is coming up too. There are a lot of mother's day 2011 gift ideas found all over the internet. I personally like the family necklace and the bracelet. So cute!
