Getting In Shape

Saturday, February 26, 2011

My brother is thinking of going back into working on his body. A few months back he religiously exercised and got into a healthy lifestyle of going to the gym everyday. I forgot what his motivation was - I think it was because of summer (and summer means topless and beach) but now he has lost the drive to workout anymore. While I was reading some muscle building supplement reviews I remembered my brother. Maybe he should know about this site, the information available may help him decide whether to take some supplements to aid his muscle development or not.

New Look Again.

This just in.

I am going to need prescription glasses starting now until the rest of my life (or up until I get lasik). I am nearsighted and my right eye is completely relying on the left eye for about a year or 2 now. My right eye has a grade of 100 and the left is fine. I got a small glasses which is simple and hopefully won't make me look too different. I loved it because it was light and purple. I can finally go on reading longer, even do the oxyelite pro reviews without getting a headache, I can be in front of the computer longer, I can drive during the night without squinting too much and I can watch TV without facing sideways.

Yipyip. As a fashionista, wearing specs isn't the greatest but then again; can't deny the aging process. All my girl-cousins from my mom's side have glasses, I am the last one without it, so I guess it was just a matter of time. Gotta just rock this new look from this day on.

Lazy Day.

Finally, after about a month - we can finally move back into our room. The renovation is done and the workers have moved to working on the kitchen. There will be construction for a month more so the dust won't settle just yet. I really can't wait for it to be finished. The dust and the workers coming in and out of the house is such a hassle. On the bright side, the house is made over and we're getting a bigger kitchen, so that's always something to look forward to.

Anyway, it's a lazy Saturday and all this talk of construction is making me hungry. But I better not binge just now, I want to lose the extra weight I gained from the holidays. Plus, when I cut my hair the weight gain became more apparent. Such a shame because I like my short hair, but I can't have it so maybe CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) can help me burn the extra fat.

Ack. The splitting headache is killing me. Time to go see an optometrist about my eyes.

Saturday 9: Monday, Monday

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!

Saturday 9: Monday, Monday

1. How does your day usually go on Monday?
Monday's are usually busy. I wake up early to prepare for work and to help my son get ready for school. I take him to school by 8. Get home and start working in our office in the 3rd floor of our house. Usually there a lot of things that need to be done, checks paid, orders made.

2. Who was the last band you saw live?
MYMP and that was a LONG time ago.

3. When was the last time you purchased something over $50?
Sliding glass window for our CR.

4. Does talking about sex make you uncomfortable?
To my parents yes. To my friends, no.

5. Do you wish you were someplace else right now?
No.

6. Tell us about the last wedding that you attended.
My hubby's twin's wedding. It was beautiful. Too bad because my son, who was the ring bearer, didn't get to walk down the isle because he got sick ;(

7. What's annoying you right now?
My headache. And the ongoing construction around the house. There's dust everywhere.

8. What is your best skill/ability? Why?
I'd say I am excellent in multitasking. I can get a lot of things done fast especially if I put my mind into it.

9. If someone asked a friend of yours, "Hey, what is one thing your friend is exceptional at?", what would they say about you? Why?
They'd probably say, I am a good listener and I give great/practical advice.

1 Year & 5 months

Thursday, February 24, 2011

Our baby boy is almost 1 year and a half. How fast time goes when you're busy!!! He can walk, run, climb, dance and follow instructions already. One time, I asked him to get his shoes and he did. Also there was a time I asked him to return something - he did.

He packs away his toys when he's done with them. He can tell us what he wants. If he likes to go somewhere, he's grab your hand and drag you there.

Yesterday, while watching baby Einstein he said, "DOG!"

I'm impressed. His Ahia started talking very late (2+) and I think Shoti will be able to communicate earlier. This is a good thing because he will have less tantrums because we can understand him better. The downside of course is he wouldn't stop talking just like his Ahia who gets into trouble in school for always talking!!! Kids are so much fun.

We wait and wait and wait for them to talk, but once they get started we wonder if there's an "off" button somewhere.

Best Acne Products

I once suggested acne scar treatment to a friend with acne scars. Unfortunately, it was a bit pricey for him at that time. We only knew of chemical peel and it's out of the question. We were still in college and we didn't have money. Now that he's already working in a BPO company, there's no doubt he can afford the treatment. However, he's scared it might do more damage than good. Some are saying, the side effects include redness in the face which he doesn't like since he has to face a lot of trainees everyday. It's his call though, personally I don't think he needs it anymore. His face looks fine. I've discovered a site which lists effective, safe and affordable skin treatment removal products which costs a fraction compared to diamond peel. I may suggest this to my friend.

Facing The World Beautifully.

So, after all the beauty products and skin treatments out there; which is really the best for 100% guaranteed acne solutions?

Sleep?
Water therapy?
Facials?
Diet?

Or a combination of these? I'd say it is a combination of different factors. Proper diet can very well lead to a better skin. Just ask my friend, J whose had acne problems all his life. While his continued use of skin products helped his cause, regular sleep and proper diet maximized the effectiveness of the products.

What can I say, I am obsessed about proper skin care especially in the face. How can you face the world properly if your problem is your face? Right?

Taking Care Of My Skin

I didn't think having regular facials was vital until I started having them. Hitting my late 20's made me realize that I am not getting any younger and so is my skin. Since my dad is a member of this hotel and had GC's as consumables, my sister and I get treated to facials whenever we like. Before, I had a lot of blackheads on nose. I used to take them out myself and I wondered why instead of making it better, I made them worse.

For starters, I should have cleaned my face first and made sure no other dirt may come in while I mutilate the pores. Also, I didn't steam my face before the extraction making it really painful.

I swear by diamond peel and its effects (with regular facials ofcourse!). Now, my friend is suggesting a new kind of facial to minimize fine lines and pores. 2 years ago, I would have said no. I don't have fine lines! But, sad to say, that's not the case now. I'd try anything to get my youthful skin back. So, apart from drinking lots of water, staying out of the sun and sleeping 8 hours a day - facials and treatments are vital too for staying youthful.

Getting Old

I think I have finally narrowed down the culprit to my allergies. I think it may be due to:

  1. Cheese
  2. Egg
  3. Dust
A bit broad, but at least not as vast as before. Right now, I am feeling itchy all over. I have cough. I have runny nose. The house is super dusty and I cannot see properly.

Yes, the resounding voice of my sister who keeps on telling me to GET GLASSES is in my head. I am trying to block it out but I think I am losing this battle. Grocery shopping earlier was slowed down because I couldn't read the labels properly.

Not only do I have kidney problems and skin problems - I would also be needing prescription glasses. I must be getting old.

Wish Me Luck.

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

This day is a total disaster! I am starting to believe in bad luck. Last night before I went to bed, I went out to check if the doors were properly locked when a black cat crossed my path. I didn't really think of it. Apparently that wasn't the end of it. It started when I woke up late. Joshua was very difficult to handle. I had allergies. I had to rush breakfast and bath for the 2 boys. Everything was chaotic. Only 1 me and 2 boys. It's bad enough I don't have a nanny to help me out today; I was getting frazzled already. Then we were stuck in a bit of traffic going to school. After dropping Joshua off in school I realized - I left the key inside the ignition in the car!!! ;(( Acccckk....and it's only 8AM! I'm always leaving the keys everywhere lately; usually leaving it in unusual places. Would you believe at one point, I found it in the CR! I don't know wassup, maybe it's because I have a lot in my mind. Maybe I should buy myself metal detectors even waterproof metal detectors so I can find stuff easily. Who knows? I'll find treasures too? Well, judging from my luck (or lack of) today, I highly doubt it. Anyway, I have to do a lot of juggling of stuff today, I need to buy vinyl for our room's floor, I have to buy groceries, pack for this weekend...I hope my luck will turn.

What Else Is In Austin?

Friday, February 11, 2011

Last year, I went to Austin, Texas to attend a convention. While I was there, I needed to hear mass. So, I looked up the nearest Church from my Hotel and I rode a bus to the Church. I attended mass in St. Catherine Cathedral. I was a beautiful church with many warm church goers. It felt good to be independent that way because I am so bad with directions. When I made that trip, I was alone so getting lost was not an option. Anyway, it was an amazing experience and I just wish I stayed longer (and that I could have gone to the outlet store!). Speaking of Austin, I remember reading about the O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath lawyers, whose office is found in 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX; they specialize in complex products liability claims. There was a case wherein DePuy Orthopedics announced a recall of 93,000 hip replacement systems due to a large number of people experiencing pain and swelling so severe that a second hip replacement surgery became necessary. Naturally, these people would want to sue, that is where O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath personal injury lawyers come in. They are experienced enough to handle Depuy lawsuits.

It Pays To Listen

Poor Whitey!!!

My brother who is recently learning how to drive bumped into the gate and broke the back light. I was not pissed because I know it was an accident but I was a bit annoyed since he parked the car during night time already.

So what if it was night time? The thing is, since there's some construction being done on our house these days, there's no outdoor lighting available. I kept on nagging little bro to park the car when there was still light but he didn't because he was with his friends. So there. Not listening to bigger sister equals karma.

Good thing the damage isn't that bad. Or else I would have asked him to pay! ;D

Hair Talk

I forgot to blog about this. Did I tell you? I grew out my hair for about 2-3 years and it came out like this.

I love it because I can style it whichever I like, straight, curly, up or down. Now, there came a point when I didn't love it anymore since I had so much hair fall and my hair became really dry and damaged.

After giving birth to that smiling baby there my hair took a beating. It has been months since I was thinking about this and finally, since it's a new year, a new look is in order:

I love that it's easier to manage. I love that I don't have falling hair anymore! Love love love that I spend less time in the bath.

But (!!!)....I miss my long hair ;((

Good Times

Thursday, February 3, 2011

Good times with Mo the Podcast has been my current addiction these days. Basically, the podcast is about people calling in, they talk to DJ Mo Twister, Dr. Gan and a celebrity guest. They call and ask just about anything and everything. "From matters of the heart to all your juicy parts, anything goes" - that's the shows opening spiel. It's funny how crazy the questions get! From silly dating questions to serious family matters.

One thing I noticed though, contrary to what I initially thought, there weren't as many drug related questions. Which is a good thing considering I know a lot families battling addiction problems within. It's hard because the addict would start behaving differently, they become violent, they lie and they steal. One growing popular rehab treatment available today is the non 12 step treatment. What sets it apart from others is that it makes the process as specialized as possible meaning, each client must be treated as an individual, not as a stigmatized and “labeled” member of a diagnostic classification.

Anyway - try to listen to GTWM the Podcast. I guarantee you'll enjoy it.
