Project Runway Season 6

Friday, August 28, 2009

For those of you fond of fashion and have a thing for fabulous clothes then good news for you. Project Runway Season 6 has just started airing!

Weee. I was able to watch the first episode last Sunday and I was not disappointed. I haven't picked my favorite designer yet but off the bat I like Louise, Malvin and Ra'mon. Their first challenge was the "Red Carpet Challenge" wherein the Designers must create a red carpet look showing innovation and point of view. Lindsey Lohan was a guest judge here and I think she did an awesome job.

"Project Runway" Season 6 Episode 2. Airing 08/27/09 at 10 pm et/pt.

Jazz Up Your Style

The thing about earning online is you get this special tingling to also shop online! Got to reward yourself every once in awhile I always say. Right now I am trying my hardest to stop spending especially when it comes to bags and clothes and start saving up for the Holidays. For sure, there will be lots of spending in the coming months especially with a baby on the way.

Just my luck, as I was trying my hardest to stop spending; I came across a fabulous site, a handbag blog and much more. It offers articles about designer handbags, flip flops, jewelry, accessories, wallets, hats, caps and belts. I like reading the articles because it gives me tips and tricks to be as trendy as Lindsey Lohan, Kate Hudson and other Hollywood stars. Also, they offer these items for wholesale. Meaning you can get them at a cheaper price if you buy in bulk. Since I am thinking of an RTW (Ready to Wear) business in the future I checked out all their items. They have a wide range of products, their belts for example have this Western Style into it and it has blings to jazz up any boring outfit.

Don't be left behind. Check them out.

Journey of Motherhood

Having a baby ??

Congratulations!!!

This must be an exciting time for you. It definitely is for me and my family. A baby is always a blessing. Yes, it IS scary, life-changing and a BIG responsibility. But how you resist those cute little fingers and toothless gums??? I can't. I fell in love with my first born the moment I laid my eyes on him. He was 7 weeks old then and looked like a peanut. Like any first time Mom, I cried when I saw him through the Sonograph. Questions were raising in my brain. I had bleeding then and I was afraid I damaged him somehow. At that point I became a voracious reader. I read stuff online. I followed other Mom's journals and blogs just to know more about other Mom's experiences. I asked a lot of questions too like breastfeeding questions. Can I do it? What if I don't have milk? It was a fascinating time. I loved learning about motherhood.

In the end my son turned out to be perfect. A little genius even. I loved Motherhood. It changes you.

So now, I am anticipating again. My second son. I am more relaxed now. More confident with myself. I still continue on learning though. That's why I love technology and the internet. Information right out from my fingertips. Take for example Potty Training; I was really frustrated with my son and I's progress at first but after reading potty training tips I stopped fretting and kept a positive attitude. In no time, my son learned how to pee on his own. He was diaper free a little before 3.

Few weeks from now we will meet my little kicker, for now above all else, I pray for a healthy baby.

Lovely Favors to Check Out

I guess I won't having my baby shower for the second baby after all. Goodbye cute little baby shower favors. I was not really expecting one; although, I can't be greedy you know. Most of my 1st borns' stuff are still very much wearable; some are even just slightly used. Still, I went on and looked around for some baby shower ideas online because I wanted to know where I can get quality products for the future showers I will definitely put together for my friends. Sadly, none of my close friends are anticipating yet but it helps to be always ready. That's my motto.

During my first baby shower, we gave away personalized Favor Box Kit with my baby's 3D photo embedded in the cover and some knick-knacks found inside the box. I remember my friends loved the idea of it. Bellissimo Favors not only carry favors for baby showers, they also offer delicious give-away for weddings, baby showers, bridal showers and every occasion you can think of.

One smart gift that would be nice for a baby shower is a Diaper Cake! Ever since I laid my eyes on one I always wanted to receive one. It's such a practical gift with a twist, don't you think? Usually Diaper Cakes not only have diapers in them, they also would have receiving blankets, baby's essentials like shampoo and wash, some baby bottles, pacifier and more. It comes in many yummy colors and designs. You can even have a 3-tier Diaper Cake. It's super cute you have to check it out.

In My Life Full Trailer

Thursday, August 27, 2009

Finally! A Filipino movie I am sure I will like. No offense to Filipino movies however, I end up hating some because I see some parallelism to foreign movies. Take for example the movie of Bea Alonzo and Sam Milby "I Love You So"; my friends told me it was like the movie "PS I Love You".

Anyway, this September, brought to us by Star Cinema, a gay-themed movie about acceptance, “In My Life” starring the box-office king John Lloyd Cruz, Luis Manzano and the star for all seasons, Vilma Santos. I really can't wait to see it. Saw the trailer this weekend. Check it out.

Super Nice. JL is super good here. I love him as an actor. Ate Vi of course, she always amazes me.

Welcome to the August 27th version of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by
Kimber, the number of kids I have and the color of dead roses.

1. Have you ever played Bullshit?
Was that the same game Kate Hudson & Matthew McConaughey played in the movie, How to Lose A Guy In 10 Days?!! Well, then. NO. Looks fun though.

2. A dog licks you on your face. Are you disgusted or thinking it was sweet?
Disgusted!!! I would be disgusted if someone licks my face, what more if an animal licks me?

3. Tell us about a fun/special memory you have of a grandparent.
My paternal grandma- she's 90++ now and its fun talking to her because she has regressed and thinks my grandfather is still alive and if you ask her where her kids are she would say school....I always let her talk about her life because I am fascinated with the past.

4. Have you ever pet a rat?
Eckkk. No freakin' way.

5. If I walked into your kitchen, where are the cups?
Going in the kitchen; cups are found on the drawer on the left of the sink, second one from the top.

6. Since you already let me in your home, I found the cup and had water, now where's the bathroom from the kitchen?
When you get the water and cup, just look straight up and there's the CR door. What are you doing in my house anyway?

7. Have you ever pet a turtle or tortoise?
A little green turtle. Oz had 2 pet turtles before but they both died.

Good As New

Yes, at a price, my laptop's keyboard is finally fixed. I had to wait for 2 weeks for the replacement keyboard to become available but the wait is worth it since I really can't stand knowing my 'shift' key is defective. People kept on telling me I should just have glued the key cap there and pretend it was fine, however I could not do that since every time I see it, I feel like ripping it out.

Anyway...it's fine. I am just relieved it's fixed. Dell's service center for the Philippines (AMTI) doesn't give good service. The people working there (I'm speaking about the Cebu people only okay) are too slow, don't really know how to answer my questions and they are not very helpful. I had to talk to the manager of the place to have all my questions and clarifications answered properly.

I could only wish nothing happens to my laptop anymore. I really don't enjoy going to that service center.

I Need a Back Rub

So I mentioned a few moments ago I have no work today right? However since we have the office here at home it is inevitable that I be called or requested to do some stuff especially if they are urgent. My Dad/Boss was inquiring about some shipment of tractors we had a couple of months back. He needed the figures and needed them fast. So of course I had to help him out. I had to look for the file wherein the expenses we incurred from the cargo liner and forwarders were located. Just my luck they were somewhere around the bottom of the filing cabinet.

Arrg. My aching back. So now, I am in our room, in bed and finishing this up to prepare for Ozzy and mine´s afternoon nap. I would have preferred someone massage my back and legs. But no, Hubby´s so far away and I miss him in times like now.

Public Holiday

Today we Filipino´s commemorate the heroic death of a National Here. Ninoy Aquino was assassinated some 23 years ago - and for that he has become an icon of democracy. It´s a public holiday here in the Philippines and hopefully; apart from everything else we remember what the Aquino´s did for the freedom of our country.

As for me, the holiday meant now work. I am glad for the much needed break from all the office stuff. Although work is never that stressful to begin with, I am just happy I get to spend most of my time today in bed rather than in the work desk. I am really starting to feel the sheer weight of the baby I am carrying. Speaking of weight, my sister has started packing. She is going to work in their Makati office starting Monday. It is sad because we will surely miss her. Anyway, she was having some serious doubts regarding her stuff because she has too many clothes! Her newly acquired backpack and Samsonite luggage can´t seem to contain all her stuff. What she said was since she still has 2 weeks before she can get settled in her new condo she´d just send all her stuff over once she is settled. Good plan.

TT : S2pd Q's You Love to Answer

Thursday, August 20, 2009

Thursday's almost over; good thing I was able to join in just in time!

Welcome to the August 20th version of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the number ziltch and the color of spider webs.

1. Your thoughts on hunting?
I'll leave it to the men in the family.

2. Swine Flu vaccine... will you get it?
No, I'm pregnant and I'm not allowed to take it.

3. What is one job/profession that you think there are just too many of?
Well, here in the Philippines there are just too many nursing students. However, very few practice here so they are scattered all over the globe.

4. I want to go on a diet, what advice will you offer me?
Just DO it. Don't say you'll start tomorrow or next week. Or after your birthday. Do it now.

5. You are going out on a date with someone for the very first time. When you get into their car, you see a box of condoms on the floor. What do you do?
I'd probably shove it under the seat and make a mental note of that. Minus points for the guy. Even if he didn't intend to use it on the 1st date; he should have at least cleaned his car and had the decency to NOT show that to me.

6. Name something in your bathroom that shouldn't be there.
I'd say my son's toys. Other than that, everything is in order.

7. What was your Kindergarten teacher like?
I can't remember....

8. What kind of oil do you use when you cook?
Corn Oil. I am just guessing here 'cuz I don't do the cooking.

9. If someone takes an unflattering picture of you and posts it online, do you beg them to take it down or do you laugh at yourself with everyone else?
I would laugh, cringe in horror and beg them to take it down all at the same time. LoL. But seriously, this has actually happened to me many times already. If you are a friend in Facebook you should know. What I usually do is un-tag myself so they don't show up in my own profile. However, I don't mind if its up in my friends profile. I'd even comment on it and laugh about it with them because those pictures usually comes with a very fond memory.

10. What brand of dishwashing soap do you use?
Joy anti-baterial dishwashing liquid.

3 Point Skin Care Regimen

So we all know I have this thing with caring for my skin and body. Luckily for me I was born with the skin type that is not very oily so I have less pimples. I do however have dry skin if not properly cared for will lead to peeling. That is why I always make sure to use only skin care products and skin care cosmetics that are safe for my face and body.

I actually have a very simple daily skincare regimen. Some people would say, its 3-part. Cleanse, tone and moisturize. What I do is only cleanse and moisturize. Of course, I have my facial every now and then. For years now it has been working for me. However my sister who has been cleansing, toning and moisturizing for over a month now said she has noticed that her face has improved so much. She has an even complexion and smaller pores. So of course the green monster in me surfaced and I want to have a face like that too so I will change my daily routine from now on. I would cleanse, tone and moisturize too, besides I am fast approaching 30 so I better take skin care seriously!

C-Scare

Mother had a slight C-scare lately. When she had he annual paps mere the doctor advised her for further checkup to get a specimen from her cervix. I believe what was needed was to check if the abnormal tissue growth was cancerous or not. Thankfully, with a big big sigh of relief it was not. However, she is advised to have vaccination for Cervical Cancer for preventive measures.

Suffice to say, that experience made us sit on the edge of our seats waiting for the results. That is why, no one is safe. The best way is to ensure you have a healthy lifestyle and then prepare for the worst. Which means, if you don't have any insurance coverage right now, better start canvassing for an affordable term life insurance while you still can. If you get it when you are young and healthy then you can get a better deal compared to when you get it when you old and sickly.

#6 The Bachelor's Dating Meme

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

We're up early this week.
Welcome back to The Queen's Tuesday Meme. Each week the type of meme will change; sometimes silly, sometimes serious, but always fun!

This meme is all about using your imagination. Free your inner blogginess. Step outside the proverbial blox (that's blog + box for all you non-blog speakers). Answer these ridiculous situational questions and post them on your own blog. Here's the situation for today. We won't tell a soul. And remember:
Don't end up in the dungeon

In honor of my 500th "Bachelor of The Day" to post this week on my site called Dating Profile Of The Day we bring you The Dating Meme. For three years I've been rummaging through online dating profiles to find the zaniest and most ridiculous profile headlines out there. They write 'em. I spoof 'em. Do you know that some folks are grammatically insane?? And some are just insane.

Ergo, today's meme was born.

Are you up for the challenge? Take a look at these seven dating profile headlines from real dating sites. Imagine you are trying to find a date and these gems have just landed in your inbox. How would you respond to them? Write a comeback response to each one. Be sarcastic, be funny, be brave! Spelling errors not my own. Names and locations have been changed to protect the terminally single. If you need inspiration, go HERE for hundreds of funny examples.

1. Birdbrain looking for a mate
I really do hope you find your chick.

2. Where Are All The Bad Girls?
In jail dude.

3. A Good Woman Is Hard To Fine
That's why she is not in jail with the bad girls.

4. Does God Know You've Escaped From Heaven?
I would answer with this:"Connect me if I'm wrong but are you asking me ouch?"

5. I Put the Fun in DysFUNctional
This is kind of funny actually.

6. Does this profile make me look fat?
No it makes you look dysfunctional.

7. I'm a no nonsince person with little tolorrance for stupitity
Oh, dear lord.

Good luck! And thank you for playing The Queen's Tuesday Meme.

Hot Hollywood Moms

I may sound obsessed with my weight at this point, bear with me please. I can't help it. I am so paranoid when it comes to my expanding waistline. So anyway, I've already come to terms with the fact that I can't wear a 2-pc suit ever again. This is because of my ugly stretchmarks. So, I am hoping to have a toned tummy instead so at least I would look good in a 1-pc suit. Wishful thinking for a mother of 2? Of course not, many women out there still look good even though they have had 2 or more kids. Take for example Kelly Ripa, Heidi Klum and of course Jessica Alba.

I am no celebrity by any means but I would love be like these hot Hollywood moms who managed to get back in shape months or weeks after giving birth. I guess the secret would be a strict diet, discipline and exercise! The latter I lack the drive to do. I once promised myself during my first pregnancy that I'd do sit-ups regularly and finally have a go with the fitness equipment we have here at home. That never happened because I kept putting it off thinking I'd have another baby soon so why bother exercising and then wasting the abs again?

Now, I will really really be true to my word and exercise. There's no secret to a great body. You just have to diet and exercise. Good genes would not hurt too!

A Fish Pond

One of the business my Dad once said he would like to have is a fishery. We can have milk fish or prawns in there! Naturally, I love to eat fish so I am in the agreement in this conversation. However, my mother said that Dad has a lot in his plate right now work-wise and adding yet another small business on the side will really take a toll on his health. So, that left me with the idea of maybe doing that for a business myself. It seems simple enough...have a fish pond, make sure to have pond filters, some fishes of course, someone in-charge who knows about the fishes and then a nice beach front property!

Okay, so I will be in charge of the beach front property. I love the beach and if I could I will live there forever. That's why a small fishery is a good idea. It seems manageable. We'll see!

TT : Q's About This and That and That Other Thing

Thursday, August 13, 2009

Welcome to the August 13th version of Thursday Thunks!
(which we always seem to post on Wednesday)
Where we make you think a little bit before you blog!
This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by
Kimber, the number 4812 and the color of storm clouds.

1. Hypothetical question- you are in a building with famous works of art, old manuscripts of famous novels, and original sheet music from famous composers. The building is on fire and looks to be completely destroyed. Do you grab any of the famous works before fleeing, and if so what?
Maybe I'd grab old manuscripts of the bible. It would be a shame if it will all be ruined in a fire.

2. In August 1969, the Manson family went on a 2 night killing spree. Do you think 40 years later they have paid for their crimes?
I don't know of them so I googled them; (the horror) seeing the graphic photos like that. Poor Sharon Tate Polanski who was 8 1/2 months pregnant!! Her baby too. It's so tragic I didn't want to read more. Whatever their reason is, I hope that cult will never be released from prison.

3. Power Outage! What's the longest you have been without power?
It was back in 1992 (I am not sure of the date) I think, a super typhoon hit Cebu and we were out of power for 2 weeks!!!

4. Just bought a new tazer gun. Will you let it be tested it on you to see if it works, and how it feels to be tazered?
No way! I am not that crazy.

5. A neighbor's mail was delivered to you. In it is a magazine not wrapped in plastic. Is it ok for you to flip through it before giving it to the neighbor? Do you tell them you looked through it?
Depends on what kind of magazine. I would probably flip through it, not read, just look and then hand it to the neighbor.

6. If I went through your purse/wallet right now, what all would I find in there?
Important ID's, Drivers License and Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Cash and some change. I have an extra car key and house key in there too. You can't imagine how many times I've left the key inside the car.

7. Have you been living under a rock?
Sometimes I think that. See #2. However, that was 1969 and I wasn't born yet so I have an excuse somehow.

8. Tell us something crazy you did this week.
I gave the people of AM (local Dell Service Center) a piece of my mind. How dare they charge me so much for a simple keyboard repair job. I ended up paying for it still - I am glad I was able to tell them how I felt.

Fighting the Bulge

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

One thing is for certain, I have to lose weight after I give birth by hook or by crook. A lot of parties, get together and homecoming are scheduled for December that it would be unacceptable (for me) to be flabby. Besides, Hubby would be coming home and I know that aside from being my number #1 Fan he is also my #1 Critique. This works for me because it pushes me to exercise or to watch what I eat. What I've noticed about couples is that they develop the same eating pattern. However, in some cases like mine, the other one (i.e Hubby) doesn't get the bulging tummy or cellulite. Maybe it has something to do with my sedentary lifestyle but the fact remains that in most cases women do get those nasty bulge and it gets harder for one to lose the weight. My eating habits coupled with childbirth is the major cause for married women like me to gain more weight. Right now, I am exploring the option of exercising, balanced diet and maybe taking supplementary diet pills to hasten the slimming process. However, for everyone's safety; take time to go through the many diet pill reviews out there to make sure you have the right one that fits your lifestyle. I will do all these after I give. So right now, I am still enjoying some good food while it can last.

Rewarding Myself

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

I love beautiful things and I love blogging.

(picture posted from Faye's site)

When Milet im'ed me about an extra Coach small hobo bag available for sale - I immediately asked her to send me a picture. Blogging has opened up many things for me and one door leads to online shopping. A girl has to reward herself once in awhile right? Since this beauty right here costs so much less from Faye, I decided to get it. Although my first choice would have been a bigger bag [with a bigger price tag :( ] I decided on this small Coach bag because I don't have a small bag anyway.

I am still on the look out for a watch and a bigger Lacoste bag. Ahhh. The joys of shopping online. Eye-love it. I don't need to go around the malls and walk for hours to buy something. Multiply has also been a great temptation to me. Thank God for my expanding waistline, it stopped my urge to shop for cute dresses and tops. Now, I mostly shop for the coming baby. I bought a sling, a milk tray and some nursing tops online with my blogging money too. Its no wonder more and more of my friends have expressed a desire to join the blogging bandwagon.

It's fun and and it's rewarding. What more can you ask for? (higher PR perhaps?)

Help! My Son Removed a Key Cap.

Monday, August 10, 2009

Apparently this has happened to many.

This incident even happened to me once before, but with an IBM laptop not a Dell laptop and I easily fixed that. What happened? I turned my back for about 2 seconds and then next thing I knew my son was holding up a SHIFT key from my laptop. The horror - to think I've placed too much care on that pink beauty only to have it easily man-handled by my 3 year old.

==========

Many of my friends tell me that I can just snap the key cap back into place. There's some helpful ways here to repair the key cap, however, in my case I think something broke hence I have to call Dell and ask them to repair my unit.

In the picture is the culprit trying to "help". Poor boy I think he felt so bad seeing me panic like that. It's actually not a big deal because there's another shift key on the left of the keyboard, however, the OC in me can't function well until I get the thing fixed.

Would you rather go a week without bathing, but be able to change your clothes, or a week without a change of clothes, but be able to bathe?
OMG - I hate to choose but I'd rather be able to bathe without changing rather than never bathe in 7 days!! I live in the tropics for heavens sake and 1 day without a bath is more than what I can take.

If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose?
A TV show..uhmmm...definitely NOT Survivor or anything of that sort because I hate to "rough it out" (see#1). You didn't mention a reality TV show so I'd be trapped in ANTM. I am a frustrated model. LoL

What is Glossophobia?

A cousin of mine whose good looking joined this contest in their school. It was more like a fun Mr and Ms. thing. I know he was very nervous about speaking in front of many people. I remember when I was younger I had public speaking anxiety. Fun Fact: Did you know three out of every four people suffer from public speaking anxiety.

Oddly enough I have gained confidence now that I am older, however if I can get away from speaking in public I will! I'd rather strike a pose and be a model than speak. I know I will sound like a bubble head in front of the crowd because I'd ramble on. My mom, sister and dad on the other hand are very good public speakers. My sister is even a trainer by profession. If you want to read more about "glossophobia" (Public speaking anxiety) then visit this site (http://www.bravina.com/public-speaking-anxiety.html).
