To Cut or Not To Cut

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

That is my dilemma right now. I've played with Instyle's Hollywood Hair Makeover site before and it had pretty hilarious results. I know I've shared these pictures in my other blog however that blog is dead and I want to share the pictures here once more.

Now that I am debating whether to continue my plans of growing my hair long or cutting is super short I revisit those pictures again and want to know your opinion. Do I look better:

With long straight hair?

Photobucket

or long curly sexy hair?

Photobucket

with bangs?

Photobucket

Or maybe just a Rihanna bob?

Photobucket

These pictures are funny though - they make my face look alien-ish don't you think? For now, I am sticking to my initial plan of growing out my hair first. I miss my long hair. I miss having to style it in many different ways. Although many say I look wayyy BETTER with shorter hair; I will chose to not listen for the time being.

Besides, chances are when the baby is born I will have to cut my hair short anyway.

Halo-Halo Thoughts

There's something about the song Poker Face by Lady Gaga that makes me want to dance! I love to have started my day with listening to it because I feel energetic as compared to the past few weeks when I feel super lazy and lethargic.

===

In 5 days my friends and I are off to our Summer getaway. I initially wanted Bantayan Island however, since we don't have enough time we settled from somewhere closer and less stressful. But that doesn't mean I don't want to go to Bantayan still. Maybe when Hubby is here. Booo :'( I miss the husband too much lately. I guess its because of the hormones and the big big possibility that he'll be home by December pa and that he'll never ever experience the 2nd pregnancy at all. When he comes home the baby would be 3 months old already. Isn't that just so depressing?

===

Something I need to work on = telephone courtesy. I realized I may sound a total b*tch on the phone; sometimes its because of slow service, really small voices or chappy lines or really annoying people on the other side. Sometimes its just me. Fine, most of the time its just me, I really can't be a call center agent. I don't have patience for irate callers or callers for that matter.

===

I am so loving Facebook. It's easy and its fun. I just wish they revert back to the old facebook look because the new and improved look doesn't appeal to me very much.

Add me! 'kay?

Earth Hour

Monday, March 30, 2009

Our family participated in last Saturday's 60-minute lights out in support of Earth Hour - aiming to take action on Global Warming.

Lights out for my dad meant turning of the electrical source of the whole house so it was definitely an unforgettable, hot, humid night for us. We spent the hour praying the rosary and chaplet. Something our family does on a daily basis before we all got so busy. Now, we only do the rosary on Sunday's or on days we get to be all together.

I realized how modern man, me included of course, is dependent so much on electricity and our latest technological gadgets. Power shortages reminds me of how simply our ancestors lived before. Ozzy was on the iTouch whole time since it ran on batteries he was one happy camper, except for the heat but I was fanning him so he didn't complain much.

I looked out the window and saw only a few of my neighbors knew or bothered to switch of their lights. I guess they do not love the Earth as much.

I miss those butterflies.

Sunday, March 29, 2009

On my 14th week today and I already felt the baby twist and tumble inside. I am so sure because as I was lying down watching Grey's Anatomy I felt the flutters and saw the movement in my tummy. Since I was lying very still at that time it was so hard to miss.

Ow how I missed feeling those little butterflies. It was what I kept on looking forward to when I was carrying Ozzy and now I am sure to wake up each day anticipating the butterflies.

I would have laid on my bed longer and kept on waiting for the flutters but I had to do a little online snooping on Danze faucets and if it would be a better option that a regular faucet. Our room's CR is in serious need of a makeover and I want to start with the fixtures. Next on the agenda is the fact that I want a bigger bed. And some additional cabinets.

Hai. Got to get ready for the second baby as early as possible.

One Afternoon

Saturday, March 28, 2009

We had an unplanned pool time earlier because of the brown out. It was 2PM and freakishly hot so my Dad we suggested we spend the afternoon in the nearby pool.

Good thing my parents were members, so it was for free.

We were the only one's there and Ozzy has overcome his fear of pools. He hurriedly asked me to go to the pool and after 2 hours still refusing to stop.

He obviously had fun.

Obviously.

Next week will be a different summer outing. We'll see if he has overcome the fear of beaches & sand.

Top 3

Friday, March 27, 2009

I can name many things different with my current pregnancy compared to my first one. However, the top 3 would undoubtedly be:

1. All-Day sickness. (I wouldn't even wish this one for my worst enemy..uhmm wait...)
2. Bloating. (fat angles + expanding waist line = feeling ugly)
3. Acne Breakouts. (I feel like I'm back in HS! Better check on those natural acne treatment's then.)

First off - I'm not one who easily gets sick or nauseated but it has become so worse that I even had almost fainting spells. Tsk. Tsk. Then I feel like its too early to feel so bloated. But I blame all the salty foods I crave. Green Mango with shrimp paste, Chippy (red), halo2x even shawarma! Unhealthy, I know...I guess all the junk have been catching up with me thus the acne breakouts.

Hmmm. I think I'll book myself a nice pampering this weekend. We'll see.

BBB's Resort, Alcoy

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Me and my friends try to have a beach outing annually. In our closest most inner circle; there are only 7 of us. These 7 people are who I considered closest especially in college where we bonded everyday more than 8 hours a day. So its not surprise that the bond got closer even after college.

In attendance would be:

  • Gil - the unspoken leader and itinerary planner. He graduated Cum Laude and is currently working in Timex. He does part time work teaching too.
  • Lao - the brainy one. Cum Laude too. The math wizard and currently the photo shop guru. She works in Cavite with...
  • Ken - ...the hottie. Her abs can put current models to shame. She's single too like Lao and.....
  • Djan - ..the beauty queen/muse. She's my leggy pretty friend whom we always volunteer for batch muse/representative etc. Surprisingly she's single too. She and Gil work together in Timex.
  • JR - my best friend in the bunch. The needy one. He's super prim and proper and if you don't know him you'll probably think he's snooty and unapproachable. On the contrary he's the nicest one in our group. He works in a call center with....
  • Yova - ..the guy who can easily be mistaken to be a lady. And a very stylish, posh and pretty lady at that!
(I just realized that I am the only one who does not work with a friend, Djan & Gil in Timex, Ken and Lao in Numonyx and Jr & Yova in Convergys because I am home-based ahaha)

Left to Right : Djan, Lao, Ken, Me, Ozzy, Yova, JR & Gil

Last year, we went to Sumilon Island. It was such a lovely experience that we promised each other despite the difference in schedule and locations (some are working in Cavite) we would make time for each other.

This year, because of the Holy Week looming in, Ken and Lao are coming home so we quickly made plans to go somewhere, overnight, where we can have fun and frolic in the sand. The plans almost didn't push through and hit multiple snags because of conflicting schedule and preferences. But we pulled it off and made some adjustments. Gil and Djan won't be staying overnight but at least they would be with us the whole day.

We will be staying in Bodo's Bamboo Bar Resort in Alcoy, Cebu. Alcoy is South of Cebu, almost 3 hours travel. We'll be going there on April 5 and 6. I will be bringing Ozzy and the Nanny of course. Here are pictures of the place from their site. I am super excited!

They have very affordable rooms too. Of course they are not a 5-star resort so I won't be expecting luxury but who needs that when it clearly has pristine beaches!

I can't wait.

Shopping Bug

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

I've been itching to do a little shopping lately and I blame it all on the wonderful graduation sales going on in the malls. Last weekend was the worse; I wanted to buy a nice wrap of cover-up for our annual barkada beach thing but I didn't have the time (and energy) to look around so I left the mall feeling empty handed. Not to mention the crowd can be a downer. Also, I was not able to find the perfect wrap. I am pretty picky when it comes to stuff I buy in the malls because I am super frugal and a true blue ukay-ukay girl. So I make it a point to buy something worth the price at all times.

I would check the price in the barcode scanner and make sure it is affordable before purchasing. I would also let the clothes talk to me. Don't laugh. If it does not grab me or its not calling my name asking to be brought home then I forget it.

Anyway, been really saving up lately because we had a major purchase last month so maybe I'll scour the second hand shops instead for some P50.00 treasures!

I was like, "Oh God what did I do?"..he was just staring at me, I was holding on to my cam so I just snapped a picture of him. After that the dog ran away. He just wanted to be part of my pictures pala:)

Social Security System has no System

Friday, March 20, 2009

I had to wake up at around 530AM earlier so I can go to SSS. There were 2 reasons why I had to go to SSS.

1. Is to submit my Maternity 1 form for my maternity benefits.
2. and I had to have my SSS ID changed to my married name.

I had no qualms about that; however I was shocked to see that by 6:15AM (I felt it was early already) the line was super duper long that it reached up to the parking lot of the next building.

SSS was still closed.

When their doors opened at around 6:30AM I was glad since we didn’t have to stand around in the streets anymore. We were lining up inside and it was not until 7:00AM that they started giving out priority #’s. By 7:30AM they announced that for those people lining up for their ID capture they were no longer giving out priority #’s because they have reached their limit of 160 person/day. Of course, people grunted in disbelief and many left the line. I stayed of course because I still had the Maternity 1 form to give. It didn’t take long by 8:00AM I was done. I also paid for my ID replacement already so the next time I will go, I’d only need to have the picture taken.

What bothered me is the fact that people should line up by 4:00AM (according to the guard) just so they can be assured to be served that day. What about person #161? Shouldn’t that person be given a priority number still? Even though that person will be served the next day or days after? I live 5 minutes away from their office so lucky me, but what if that person lives 1 hour away or live miles away? Can you imagine the hassle that would cause? Why can’t SSS just give out priority numbers and then schedule that person when he/she can come back for the ID capture? It’s a hassle having to line up at 4:00AM for that and then not even assured if you can be served – I pay P500.00 a month for SSS, I expect a better, more systematic approach to their system.
