True Blood & Gore

Friday, June 26, 2009

I've never been attracted to dark television series. I stick to chick flicks and series which are babaw like Gossip Girl and 90210 which satisfies my need to see pretty clothes and shoes. However, I've been reading a lot of good reviews about HBO's series True Blood that I watched the first episode of Season 1 just the other day to appease my curiosity. True enough there was some parallelism to most vampires stories even Twilight (I'm pretty sure Sam is a wolf) :::shapeshifter pala in True blood::: but True Blood is not a love story. It is very dark, pretty scary and it has lots of nudity! I guess that's why many are hooked? LoL.

Anyway, the story revolves around the co-existence of humans and vampires following the creation of synthetic blood. The series centers on Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), a telepathic waitress at a bar, who falls in love with a 173-year old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer).

From Wikipedia:

True Blood is an American television drama series created and produced by Alan Ball. It is based on the Sookie Stackhouse book series (known as The Southern Vampire Mysteries) by Charlaine Harris. The show is broadcast on the premium cable network HBO in the United States. It is produced by HBO in association with Ball's production company, Your Face Goes Here Entertainment.[1] It premiered on 7 September 2008. The first season received critical acclaim and won several awards, including one Golden Globe.
Season 2 has already premiered in the U.S and has so far shown 2 episodes. I am still on the 7th episode of Season 1 and frankly it has given me nightmares already.

I should stop watching but I can't.
