Earth Hour
Monday, March 30, 2009
Our family participated in last Saturday's 60-minute lights out in support of Earth Hour - aiming to take action on Global Warming.
Lights out for my dad meant turning of the electrical source of the whole house so it was definitely an unforgettable, hot, humid night for us. We spent the hour praying the rosary and chaplet. Something our family does on a daily basis before we all got so busy. Now, we only do the rosary on Sunday's or on days we get to be all together.
I realized how modern man, me included of course, is dependent so much on electricity and our latest technological gadgets. Power shortages reminds me of how simply our ancestors lived before. Ozzy was on the iTouch whole time since it ran on batteries he was one happy camper, except for the heat but I was fanning him so he didn't complain much.
I looked out the window and saw only a few of my neighbors knew or bothered to switch of their lights. I guess they do not love the Earth as much.

blog hopping :)
My family participated in this one too. Although, we weren't as hardcore. We did turn off all the lights, though we were still watching TV and playing on the computer...
I'm not sure how many of my neighbors decided to participate. I didn't think to look outside.
